Salut!
Today - East-Angus and Cookshire. At both events my Bloc opponent France Bonsant was present. Inside scoop: she and I made a bet back in July on whether there would be a fall election...I won. The prize - a beer at the Lion, which we will take together at some point in the VERY near future!
Then I made the trek to La Patrie, Chartierville, St. Malo, East Hereford and St. Herménégilde. Stopped in to see the postal workers and what municipal offices were open. I must say, if signs matter, it is between myself and Mme. Bonsant in most parts of the riding.
Those villages and the surrounding area are beautiful parts of the riding, though sparsely populated. But these folks are important for our region - making sure that even the farthest points from urban centres are populated. We need to make sure that they can stay in their villages and ensure that they can prosper at the same time!
Finished the day in Coaticook - toured a distribution centre where the main talk is about China and their imports - I can talk all day about how we can meet the challenge of the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China). But we have choices to make, and in order to make the best ones, we need to have a public debate. Those are coming!
Then at the Lamoureux GM dealership. Wow, never knew that so many employees in one place could all be Liberal ;)...
Cheers!
